The RCU8 delivers 2,500 CFM from a compact 8-inch upblast body, powered by a 0.5 HP aluminum alloy motor assembly rated to 320°F in standard configuration. It is the first unit in the RCU range capable of handling the rooftop exhaust demand of a small café kitchen or a single active cooking station in a light-duty commercial setting.

With 2,500 CFM and a 0.5 HP motor, the RCU8 covers rooftop exhaust applications in the 150–250 m² range at standard ventilation rates — including small restaurant single-exhaust roof caps, commercial laundry room roof vents, retail bakery exhaust points, and toilet block extract risers in buildings with 5 to 8 fixtures. The upblast discharge direction keeps exhaust gases away from the rooftop surface and adjacent HVAC intakes, which is particularly important in compact commercial building layouts where equipment is densely packed.

The direct drive and belt drive options give contractors flexibility during installation: direct drive for applications where the motor speed matches the required airflow directly, and belt drive where the impeller speed needs to be adjusted independently of the motor RPM to match a specific duct system’s resistance curve. The anti-explosion variant is available for exhaust systems handling flammable vapors in commercial kitchens, paint storage areas, or light chemical handling facilities.

For loads between 1,300 and 2,500 CFM, the RCU5 (1,300 CFM, 0.25 HP) is the appropriate smaller unit. When exhaust demand exceeds 2,800 CFM — such as a kitchen with two or more active cooking stations — step up to the RCU10 (3,000 CFM, 1 HP).
