The CBA16 centrifugal utility fan moves 6,000 CFM at 2 HP — the first unit in the CBA range to cross the 5,500 CFM threshold using a 2 HP motor — making it the standard specification for medium-to-large commercial kitchen exhaust systems with in-duct grease filtration, and for light industrial ventilation applications where duct resistance prevents axial fans from achieving the required airflow rate.

At 6,000 CFM, the CBA16 covers commercial kitchen exhaust for restaurants operating four to five active cooking stations with a multi-stage filter system in the duct, centralized exhaust for multi-tenant food court corridors in commercial buildings, and industrial process ventilation for light manufacturing areas generating moderate levels of dust, vapour, or odour where the extract duct incorporates filter housings. The 2 HP motor and 16-inch centrifugal impeller maintain this airflow against static pressures that would reduce an axial fan’s actual output by 30% or more.

The powder-coated steel housing provides a practical corrosion resistance advantage in commercial kitchen environments where grease-laden air contacts the fan interior daily. Unlike the aluminum alloy RCU series, the CBA16 is designed for indoor installation in mechanical rooms, ceiling voids, and wall-mounted configurations — the powder coat is optimized for the humidity and grease exposure characteristic of these environments rather than outdoor UV and rain resistance.

For applications requiring 4,500–5,500 CFM at high static pressure, the CBA14 (4,800 CFM, 1.5 HP) provides the correct smaller alternative. When exhaust demand exceeds 6,500 CFM — particularly for large kitchens or facilities with high-resistance duct systems — the CBA18 2HP (7,000 CFM) is the next step.
