CFM = 4800
HP = 1.5
The CBA14 delivers 4,800 CFM at 1.5 HP through a 14-inch centrifugal blower body, with the corrosion-resistant powder-coated steel construction and high-life bearing assembly shared across the CBA range. It is sized for medium commercial kitchen exhaust with in-duct filtration, industrial odour control systems where activated carbon or HEPA filter banks add measurable static resistance, and general commercial ventilation on longer duct runs that exceed the static pressure capability of a comparably sized axial fan.
At 4,800 CFM, the CBA14 serves commercial kitchens with three to four active cooking stations where the exhaust duct incorporates grease filter panels and a UV or carbon treatment stage before discharge — a configuration that adds 0.8 to 1.5 inches of static pressure resistance that axial fans at this CFM level cannot overcome at the required airflow. The same capacity also applies to industrial fume extraction for welding bays, surface treatment tanks, and chemical mixing areas where the extract system must maintain its airflow rate against the resistance of in-duct scrubbers or arrestor filters.
The CBA14 produces the same 4,800 CFM as the RCU14 upblast fan, but the operating context is entirely different: the RCU14 is a rooftop unit handling moderate-temperature exhaust at low static pressure, while the CBA14 is a floor- or wall-mounted centrifugal unit designed for high-static-pressure duct systems at standard ambient temperatures. Specifying the CBA14 for a rooftop application, or the RCU14 for a high-resistance indoor duct system, would result in either a unit unsuited to the environment or insufficient airflow against the actual system resistance.
For loads below 4,000 CFM at high static pressure, the CBA10 (3,500 CFM, 1 HP) is the appropriate smaller centrifugal unit. When exhaust demand exceeds 5,500 CFM, the CBA16 (6,000 CFM, 2 HP) addresses the next capacity tier.
