The CBA20 4HP delivers 10,000 CFM — the second highest output in the CBA centrifugal range — through a 20-inch body at 4 HP, occupying the capacity gap between the 2HP variant (8,500 CFM at low resistance) and the CBA24 (12,000 CFM at 5.5HP). It is specified for large industrial and commercial exhaust applications where both high volume and meaningful static pressure capability are required simultaneously.

At 10,000 CFM and 4 HP, the CBA20 4HP handles large commercial kitchen centralised exhaust systems incorporating full filter treatment (grease panels + ecology unit + carbon stage), industrial ventilation for medium manufacturing plants with process fume generation, multi-floor commercial building centralised exhaust risers where the vertical duct run alone contributes 1.0 to 1.5 inches of static pressure before any filter resistance is added, and parking structure mechanical ventilation on lower basement levels where CO dilution rates require sustained high-volume extraction against the resistance of long horizontal duct runs.

The 4 HP motor positions this unit between the 2HP centrifugals — which prioritise volume over pressure — and the 5.5HP units that are specified primarily for high-resistance systems. The CBA20 4HP handles both demands at a meaningful level: enough static pressure to serve moderately complex duct systems, and enough volume to clear large enclosed spaces within the time constraints imposed by ventilation codes and occupancy safety requirements.

For applications where the duct system resistance is high but 9,000 CFM is sufficient, the CBA18 5.5HP provides better static pressure performance at the lower volume. When exhaust requirements exceed 11,000 CFM with sustained duct resistance, the CBA24 (12,000 CFM, 5.5 HP) is the maximum capacity unit in the centrifugal range.
