The RCU18 at 1.5 HP delivers 6,200 CFM — notably achieving higher airflow than the RCU16 (5,800 CFM) while using the same motor power class, a result of the larger 18-inch impeller diameter operating at a more aerodynamically efficient point. It is the energy-efficient choice for rooftop exhaust applications where the design airflow sits between 5,800 and 7,000 CFM and minimising motor power consumption is a priority.

The RCU18 1.5 HP variant occupies a specific niche: it provides 400 CFM more than the RCU16 at the same motor power, making it the right selection when the HVAC design calls for slightly more capacity than the RCU16 can deliver but the electrical supply or energy budget does not justify stepping up to a 2 HP motor. Typical applications include rooftop exhaust for restaurant kitchens with four active cooking stations, commercial kitchen extract points in mixed-use buildings where the electrical panel has limited spare capacity, and roof ventilation for food preparation areas in supermarkets and hypermarkets with continuous but moderate exhaust loads.

Like all RCU series units, the aluminum alloy housing tolerates the sustained outdoor heat exposure common on commercial rooftops in Saudi Arabia, where surface temperatures in summer can remain above 55°C for extended periods. The IEC60335 electrical safety certification ensures the motor and wiring assembly meets the standards required for commercial building permit applications.

For applications where 6,200 CFM is insufficient and a higher motor power is acceptable, the RCU18 2HP (8,100 CFM) provides a significant capacity increase within the same 18-inch housing footprint. For loads below 6,000 CFM, the RCU16 (5,800 CFM, 2 HP) remains the appropriate selection.
