The RCU16 delivers 5,800 CFM at 2 HP from a 16-inch aluminum alloy upblast body, certified to IEC60335 and built to sustain continuous operation in rooftop environments where ambient and exhaust temperatures reach extremes. It is the correct rooftop unit for medium-to-large commercial kitchens, commercial laundry facilities, and industrial exhaust points requiring sustained airflow above 5,000 CFM without the higher motor overhead of a 3 HP or 5.5 HP unit.
At 5,800 CFM, the RCU16 handles rooftop exhaust for commercial kitchens serving 150 to 200 covers, hotel laundry rooms with multiple industrial washing machines, roof exhaust points for mid-size food processing lines, and mechanical ventilation for enclosed multi-level parking structures where a single high-volume rooftop fan serves a shared extract riser. The 2 HP motor is the minimum in the RCU range at this CFM level, meaning the unit operates at or near its design point — a more efficient operating condition than running a larger motor at partial load.
The aluminum alloy full-mold structure handles the outdoor Saudi climate conditions — UV exposure, dust, and temperature swings — without the surface degradation that affects powder-coated or galvanized steel housings over multi-year rooftop installations. The standard 320°F operating temperature covers the exhaust conditions generated by all standard commercial kitchen cooking equipment; the 572°F enhanced configuration brings it into smoke fan territory for buildings requiring the rooftop exhaust unit to serve a dual role.
For exhaust loads between 4,500 and 5,500 CFM, the RCU14 (4,800 CFM, 1.5 HP) is the more appropriately sized unit. When design airflow targets exceed 6,000 CFM, the RCU18 series starts at 6,200 CFM (1.5 HP).
