CFM = 7000
HP = 2
The CBA18 2HP delivers 7,000 CFM through an 18-inch centrifugal blower body — 1,000 CFM more than the CBA16 at the same motor power — achieved by the larger impeller diameter operating at a more efficient aerodynamic point. It is the appropriate centrifugal exhaust unit for large commercial kitchens with five to six active cooking stations, centralised exhaust systems serving multiple restaurant tenants, and industrial ventilation applications where the duct system’s static resistance falls in the medium range.
At 7,000 CFM and 2 HP, the CBA18 2HP represents the upper limit of what a 2 HP centrifugal motor achieves in the CBA range. It covers exhaust requirements for large commercial kitchens in hotels, hospitals, and standalone restaurants where the hood-to-roof duct run includes grease filter stages and multiple direction changes but the total system static pressure does not exceed what a 2 HP centrifugal can overcome. The 18-inch centrifugal impeller at this motor power operates efficiently at medium static pressure — the sweet spot for kitchen exhaust systems in mid-rise commercial buildings where duct runs are 15 to 30 metres.
The concentric mount bearing assembly is a particularly important specification for the CBA18 2HP, as units at this capacity are frequently installed in applications that run 16 or more hours per day. Standard fan bearings in continuous-duty commercial applications often require replacement within 18–24 months; the cataloged bearing life advantage of the concentric mount design extends service intervals and reduces the maintenance downtime cost for operators running high-utilisation kitchens.
When the exhaust load falls between 5,500 and 7,000 CFM, the CBA16 (6,000 CFM, 2 HP) provides a lower-cost alternative at slightly reduced airflow. For applications where the duct system’s static pressure is too high for a 2 HP motor to achieve 7,000 CFM, the CBA18 5.5HP (9,000 CFM) offers both higher volume and significantly greater static pressure capability.
