The CHA16 delivers 5,600 CFM through a 16-inch inline body driven by a 2 HP motor. It is the appropriate choice for commercial environments that require sustained high-volume ventilation but where the airstream carries primarily heat, odors, and light particulates rather than heavy grease — including office building ventilation shafts, retail food outlets, bakeries, light manufacturing spaces, and server room exhaust paths.

At 5,600 CFM with a 2 HP motor, the CHA16 sits at the boundary between medium commercial and light industrial ventilation capacity. It handles the exhaust requirements of commercial spaces up to approximately 60 m² at 15 air changes per hour, making it a practical fit for food court outlets, coffee roasters, light commercial laundry extraction, spray booth exhaust in small workshops, and ventilation risers in multi-floor commercial buildings.

The difference between the CHA16 and the CHA18 (6,000 CFM, 2 HP) is 400 CFM — both use the same 2 HP motor. The CHA16 is the correct choice when the design airflow target falls within the 5,000–5,600 CFM range, allowing the motor to run at a stable operating point without being under-utilised. Running an oversized fan at reduced load through damper restriction wastes energy and accelerates motor wear; selecting the CHA16 for medium-range applications avoids this issue.

The standard circular duct connection and compact inline body allow the CHA16 to be installed in ceiling voids and service corridors where larger units would not fit without structural modifications. For applications that will grow over time, the CHA18 or CHA20 provide a natural capacity upgrade path within the same product family and duct sizing conventions.
